Today I really want to just sew for my old 16" Kishes. I don't know if this is just a reaction to getting close on my own doll. I have my Kishes out and they're so beautiful. The best doll ever made.
Well of course there will be pictures! And I'm good at sewing for dolls. How's that for ego? The whole point of my doll is to have a doll to sew for. (shouldn't end a sentence in a preposition, but you know what I mean). I want more age options, more ethnicity options, than Helen made. I want to do it myself. I want Hispanic dolls! No one makes Hispanic dolls! I want Indian (from the sub-continent) dolls! No one makes those (in the States, anyway). I want more variety, which is why I'm driven to make my own. It's just that Helen has created a truly beautiful doll, I love her, and I want to sew for her, if just for a little while. Until my muse returns.
Helen has at least made a few black dolls, but half of them have blue eyes. She sorta over-does the blue and light colored eyes. I love her brown-eyed dolls.
I quite understand. Writing it down can help. And yes, save your desire to sew little clothes for your own dolls. I know what you mean about the lack of range in dolls. An Indian doll would be lovely to make clothes for, if she wore traditional dress.
