I'm having to alter the lace pattern for this week. It's going very slowly :-/ I will probably miss my deadline. I started the lace already, and didn't like how it was coming out, so I'm starting over. How frustrating! Someday I want to draft my own patterns, so this is good experience, but it's also a bit painful--my brain hurts!
I still have to admit, I admire your tenacity and dedication. Good luck and please let us know how it goes?
ReplyDeleteOh, the sad thing is I won't know how it went until I finish the whole piece. sigh. The pins stay in until the end.
DeleteThere's a lace club meeting on Tuesday, but I don't want to go until I have more "show and tell". Of course, I could go and see if anyone has any expertise when it comes to straight starts. I don't know.
It might be worth going to get some insight into how other lacemakers do theirs. That's a wonderful resource you have there. I love being in contact with other dolmakers on-line but I wish I lived close to a real-life club where I could meet'n'greet and share. Mind you, going the first time would be nerve wracking, I have to admit.
DeleteI've been thinking about this all weekend, and I think I'll go to the lace club meeting after all. I want my lace to be good, and if I can get insight and input from people who know what they're doing already, my lace can only get better. Plus, I need reasons to get out of the house.
